Tea became my passion quite unexpectedly. After moving to Toronto, growing tired of the heavy taste of coffee (and the result of its acidity) I began to explore various teas available. And then I fell in love .......... with Oolong tea.
Motivated by my new passion, my education expanded at George Brown College (a well-regarded culinary school in Toronto). After graduating as one of the first few certified Tea Sommeliers (in conjunction with the Tea Association of Canada), and with a few of my fellow graduates, we formed the Tea Guild of Canada; a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to fostering excellence in the world of specialty tea.
A trip to remote tea villages in China followed providing the opportunity to explore first-hand the tea gardens, production, and tasting fresh spring tea with the tea masters who generously shared their vast knowledge and time over a cup of tea.
The seed was planted and a new life path began based on my passion and love of all things tea.
My journey continues with My Tea Brew. Handcrafted small batch tea blends and infusions with whole natural ingredients for the optimal tea experience that I hope you will enjoy.
